Respect Sakura

I really haven’t much to say right now, but I do need to make the occasional post on here sometimes, to ensure I’m not completely alienating the one or two people who occasionally visit (myself included in that figure).

So yeah.. I bought an Xbox 360 last week. The not so immensely massive upgraded version of what you see to the right. What’s it like? Well.. it’s about on par with my P4 tower in regards to gaming capabilities. It looks like sex running at 1080i on my 24″ Dell (via component inputs). I haven’t any games for it, but Hexic HD is kinda cool, and the real game demos (Quake 4, Battlefield 2 MC, Kameo, etc) are kind of okay. Connect360 sometimes lets me play music or look at images on said Xbox.. but there’s really not much more to say. I just haven’t got any killer apps for it, yet.

I haven’t bought any games yet, and the game demos above really haven’t inspired me to do so. Mind you, I sold my original Xbox quite some time ago, and haven’t kept up with what’s decent to play in console land. I haven’t bought Oblivion yet, so maybe I’ll do that. However, I liked Morrowind.. but couldn’t ever get around to finishing it. Maybe I’ll buy Halo 2, because I enjoyed the single player on the Xbox, but never got around to seeing what multiplayer is like.

Feel free to offer suggestions. Those who know me, know what kind of games I enjoy. Those who don’t? Well.. I’m an old school Quaker that’s tired of the whole professional angle, and I’m just in it for the fun factor now. I mostly enjoy team/coop orientated gaming, and I’m still heavily angled towards the first person genre. I’m sick of the OMG REALISM factor, and never enjoyed games like Ghost Recon or Counterstrike. Battlefield 2 MC might be a future purchase someday.. but for now, I’m after something else.

I also enjoy the old Capcom fighting games (Street Fighter series, Marvel vs Capcom, etc), but was never any good at them.

I’ll probably wind up buying Quake 4 or Halo 2, but I’m more interested in the multiplayer aspect of those two games. If neither are being played much online, or I don’t group up with a bunch of guys interested in playing those titles.. well.

So there you have it. Suggestions on what to waste money on next would be mostly appreciated.
