Respect Sakura

This has been brewing for a while now, but as you know, I’m too damn lazy to report crap on this site - especially when it comes to happenings in my personal life. Basically, what’s happening in these neck of the woods is that I end my employment as a public serving retail drone this Saturday, and the Wednesday following that, I begin my new life as a corporate serving IT drone instead. Same old, same old, only they give me more money. How much money, you ask? Well.. lets just say I have a new hat.

In any event, money hats weren’t the true reason for my wanting to switch occupations. Basically, I was down to two problems: the first being job security, and the second being the fact that I am now 29 years old, without a true career. I have no intention to continue doing the retail thing - it really doesn’t suit me. I have no talent or interest in selling shit, especially something as mundane as printer supplies. I don’t have too much troubles with the people, per se.. which is odd, as most retail tales of woe would have you believe that all customers are assholes, but I’m not really a people person, and that further reinforces the strong belief that retail just isn’t my thing.

So naturally, being a non-people person, I decide to take up an occupation which isn’t really about computer problems - but problems people have with computers. In my defence, it’s about the only career choice I have that’s of any worth right now, unless there’s some mythical country that pays people to sit on their ass, play video games, and watch Japanese animation all day. Also, money hats, people. Money hats can make you grin and bare just about anything.

In any case, I look forward to my new lifestyle of having to use my brain, as opposed to switching it off and enduring day after day.
