This is why we can’t have nice things
Posted by Jaymz, August 21st, 2007 in Anime, Everything/Nothing, Games, Respect Sakura, Slice of LifeSo AusAnime is finally dead. Sad to see it go, as during it’s prime, it was a great Australian anime community, but, as things go on, dwindled down to about two or three guys just rehashing why the community went south to the occasional newbie who’d drop by.
So.. y’know what? Fuck it. I’ll suck it up and host a shitty forum for all the ausanime escapees to post crap on for a while. I haven’t updated this place in nearly 3 months, so god knows I’ve got bandwidth to spare right now.
So gimme all your lovin’ some ideas as to what such a shitty forum should have, and what domain to host it on (Either respectsakura.org or 404chan.org for added hilarity), and I’ll make it so if I remember this site exists again.
Punch and pie.

Hello and welcome to Respect Sakura, yet another shitty blog under the premise of being an animu blog, when it's really just about Jaymz's tech leanings, spending habits and crack-inspired ramblings on topics noone cares about. Oh, and that other guy posts stuff sometimes, too.
Please be warned that this site may contain strong language, adult themes, and sexual discussion about characters that may appear underage but are really over 18, and anything that may look or sound illegal really isn't, you just imagined it because your mind is sick and twisted, and it ain't my fault so don't you dare blame that shit on me son.

I must admit some culpability here. After we got the 10th spam message in a row, I mentioned it to Scuzzy and also pointed out that I just didn’t care any more. Neither does he, and he doesn’t want to pay to run something he has no interest in or time for, thus it’s gone.
Well, it’s not like I’m doing much else with this place, so a shitty forum that’s rarely ever used is hardly going to make a dent in my bandwidth bills.
God yes, I’ve got about fifty times as much bandwidth as I need.
Well I wasn’t really posting anymore, but it’s still kinda sad to see it go.
I remember when ausanime was alot of fun to post on. Right now though I’m not really much for posting on forums, I don’t even post on SA much even though I got an account.
I only just found out tonight that ausanime is gone. Won’t anyone please think of the LANs!! :(
Even though I didn’t visit the ausanime forums very frequently, it was nice to go to a little corner of the internet where all the faces were familiar.
I was dissapointed when AusAnime got taken down too. But honestly, all you need to do is install either an alternative captcha for phpBB to stop the spam, or some other forum software altogether.
