I think I’m pushing my poor Home Server to its limits, as the sucker has 10 drives in it, and 1.6TB of data to spread evenly across those drives, whilst duplicating at the same time to avoid something horrible occuring. I have a 3.73TB limit, and while I have room to slap one more drive in the thing, I’m really going to need to look at migrating the crap off the Home Server, while I rethink the drive status.
It’s gotten too large for me to back up onto my old NAS, so I’m looking at extra drives and everything.. but for now, it needs to last me at least another month or two.
To this end, I need to start being a bit more discriminatory. This is where you guys come in.
I’d like you guys to peruse this here list of anime and give recommendations on what to delete, and your reasons why the series is worthy of deletion. Please state a good reason, or at least a humorous and entertaining one besides “lol delete eiken coz its shit”.
I’d just like to reiterate that almost everything on this list is, indeed, on my fileserver and needs to be seriously examined. Don’t believe me? Then check this sucker out (15MB). I really need to give this crap a good sorting through. Please help me do so.

Hi I’ve been subscribing to your blog feed for awhile now, since I am interested in the entries you write about home server stuff.
I skimmed through the page and made a short list of shows that I have watched (completely or partially) and thought not worth saving, then I noticed you already have scores for a lot of the shows. So why not just trash shows below a certain score? Also I noticed my personal rating on some of the shows differ quite a bit from your rating, so my list might not help you at all.
Anyways, I hate to make my work go wasted so here’s my short list regardless:
Coyote Ragtime Show - shows good promises story wise, interesting characters and good animation quality in the first couple episodes. Everything all goes down hill from there. Just watch the first episode and then randomly pick one of the later episode and do a quick comparison, the difference was huge as I remember. The anime was a sci-fi about bank heist, interstellar nonetheless, I thought even the worst heist story would at least have the brief brilliant heist moment, yet this show manages to prove me wrong.
Innocent Venus - there was an interesting plot twist half way through the story, at the moment I thought it was cool. There are so many directions they could take the show and make it great, but alas that was not the case. Instead you get the most generic crap any anime junkie could ever think of in their sleep, as if half way through the show, the writers were taken into the backyard and shot and replaced with a bunch monkeys who were forced to watch mediocre animes A Clockwork Orange style and then regurgitated their experience through typewriters. To tell the truth, I couldn’t even recall what exactly happened in the 2nd half of the story or how the show ended. The only thing I could remember was how much it sucked, and I think that speaks for itself.
Ikkitousen and Tenjou Tenge - which is which? I can’t even tell the difference, to me they are just the same shit with different packaging. There’s nothing redeemable about these shows other than a sorry excuse to show guys acting like jerks and girls rip each others’ cloth off. If that’s what you enjoy, there are plenty hentai that do the same job more competently in a less pretentious manner.
PS. What’s in that “anime hentai” folder? They are not in the list, I guess they are all keepers? =P
Just a quick rebuttal. Can’t agree more with Coyote Ragtime Show. I mean, the first episode blew me away with ANDROID GOTH MAID DEATH SQUAD SISTERS tearing everything up, and then it just became pure, unadulterated suck.
I haven’t watched much of Innocent Venus (I think maybe the first or second episode), but I do remember it not sparking much interest for me. In fact, I may not have seen this one at all, and am confusing it with some other show in my mind. I’ll look into it later tonight.
In regards to the difference between Ikkitousen and Tenjou Tenge - Ikkitousen is the one with an ungodly amount of panty flashes, and is basically the whole fighting/3 kingdoms thing is just a weak premise to make a show about fanservice. Tenjou Tenge, on the other hand has a black man with dreadlocks who is going to rape you. I have fond memories of the Tenjou Tenge manga, even if the anime failed to even remotely come close to it. Ikkitousen, on the other hand, is a testament to my great love of the 2D female form. Breasts, peoples… breasts and panties.
In regards to your query of the hentai folder, it’s only got two shows in it: Moonlight Lady (because the artwork is awesome) and Body Transfer (because it has the greatest lesbian sex scene in existence in it - 2D or 3D). You’re right, though.. neither of those were in my list.

My thoughts exactly. Delete that shit.
Anyway, you probably don’t want my opinion on what to delete. Because I’d tell you to delete all of Evangelion and Fullmetal Alchemist.
But on second thoughts, there’s a few shows in there that truly do suck. You only gave Yumeria a 2/10, and I couldn’t agree more. Get rid of that rubbish. Likewise with He Is My Master. And I haven’t seen Eiken, but if it’s tagged “ass flavoured shit biscuits”, I assume that’s probably not worth keeping either.
Romeo x Juliet can probably go as well, that was a failboat and a half. Nagasarete Airantou just plain sucked. And how do you justify giving This Ugly and Beautiful World a 7/10? My god, that series was emo. I suppose it just isn’t a Gainax series without some emo bitches to ruin it though (see Gurren Lagann and Evangelion).
